If you already order repeat prescriptions directly from your GP surgery this change will not affect you.
With recent changes, Pharmacies no longer have to to pick up prescriptions from the practice. The new prescription processing sends all prescriptions issued by a practice, electronically to Pharmacies.
Under the old system some patients built up a stock of unused medicines. The NHS can reduce the cost of waste medicines through improving repeat prescribing systems. The money saved through reducing medicines waste will be used to fund prescribing of medicines to the population of Hillingdon.
