Non-Repeat Prescription
Medications that are prescribed to patients for short term period are known as Acute. Acute medication is issued in most cases to deal with an acute condition and may be a one off. Acute medication cannot be put on Repeat Prescription. Should a patient have a repeat of a medical condition, they will need to put in a written request to the practice and the GP will review the patient’s condition before the medication can be issued. In some cases the GP may request the patient to book an appointment for a consultation.
Consideration must be made to put in an early written request. This type of request MAY take longer than 48 hours.
