The National Health Service (NHS) has been providing robust medical and healthcare services to all its citizens and in the later years to visitors to the country, who have access to free healthcare at the Primary Level.

To help the healthcare service provided by GP Practices, other community providers such as Pharmacies are now recognised to provide support to people who have minor ailments.  Pharmacies can check Blood Pressures, give advice on minor ailments.

As part of NHS initiatives, medicines which is described as ‘Over The Counter’ (OTC) are no longer prescribed by the GP.  If a Patient requires medication and is classed as OTC, the patient will be advised to buy it over the counter,
