851 cases of Scarlet fever have been reported in a week compared with usual reports of 146. Scarlet Fever is usually a mild illness but is highly infectious. look out for symptoms in your child such as sore throat, headache, fever and a fine pink rash. There is no evidence that a new strain is circulating.
